Led by crew foreman Justin Dickey crews from DBI Company apply a bauxite coating to Colbrooke Road, the second most dangerous intersection in Lebanon County, near the Mill Road entrance, Thursday afternoon, May 7. Brian Byrd spreads the bauxite with a shovel behind a truck that sprays an adhesive to the surface. The road surface is designed to provide extra friction for vehicles, when wet or icy. The surface stands up to traffic and snowplowing. Once applied the road surface can be driven on in twenty minutes. Cost prohibits more extensive applications, so it will only be done where it can be most beneficial. The three areas that will be paved are Colbrooke Road, Bellegrove Road and Lancaster Street, just South of Jonestown. Michael K. Dakota - Lebanon Daily News
